Enquiring

Does enquiring affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check only comes up once you've seen your options and decided to go ahead.

Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?

No. We don't practise spray-and-pray. A real person reviews your enquiry and only approaches lenders that genuinely fit your situation, with your agreement.

How long does the enquiry take?

About 60 seconds. It asks for the amount, purpose, your state, how long you've traded and whether you own property. Accurate answers help us match you properly first time.

Who will contact me?

A lending specialist who has read your enquiry. They'll call to understand your situation and explain what's realistic.

Is All Business Loans a lender?

All Business Loans helps match Australian businesses with suitable business finance. The encyclopedia explains every major product; our specialists help you find the one that fits.

Amounts and products

How much can my business borrow?

Property-secured business loans range from $20,000 to $5,000,000. Unsecured, cash-flow and line-of-credit options for trading businesses are typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.

Do I need property to get a business loan?

No. Trading businesses can access unsecured and line-of-credit options without property. Property generally allows larger amounts and longer terms.

Can the property belong to a director rather than the business?

Yes. It's common for a director's home or investment property to secure a company's loan, with the owner signing the security documents and a guarantee.

What types of business finance can you help with?

Property-secured loans (first mortgages, second mortgages, caveat loans), unsecured loans, lines of credit, and options for tax debt, bridging, consolidation, equipment, invoices and business purchases. The loan types volume explains each one.

Can I use a business loan for personal expenses?

No. Loans arranged through us are for business purposes only.

Credit history and tax debt

Can I get a business loan with bad credit?

Often. Past credit issues are considered case by case. Recent trading, property security and a clear explanation of what happened make the biggest difference.

Can finance help with an ATO debt?

Yes. Clearing ATO debt is a common reason businesses borrow, using either property-secured or unsecured finance depending on the amount and your situation. ATO debt is considered case by case.

Will checking my own credit report hurt my score?

No. Accessing your own report isn't a credit enquiry. Credit reporting bodies must give you your consumer credit report free once every three months.

Costs, speed and documents

Why don't you publish interest rates?

Because every business loan is priced on the business's own circumstances — security, trading history, purpose and term. A published rate would be misleading for most readers.

What fees should I expect?

Depending on the product: establishment, valuation, legal and registration fees, possibly ongoing line fees, and discharge or early repayment costs. Every fee should be in writing before you sign. Our loan fees entry explains each one.

How quickly can funds be available?

It depends on the product, the security and how quickly documents come together. Caveat loans are usually the fastest secured option; unsecured loans assessed on bank statements can also move quickly. We'll give you a realistic timeline on the first call.

What documents will I need?

Usually recent business bank statements, ID and ABN or ACN details; property details for secured loans; and, for some lenders, BAS or financial statements. We tell you exactly what's needed for your chosen option.

Using this site

Is the encyclopedia free to use?

Yes. Every entry, the glossary and the loan-type finder are free, with no sign-up.

Can I rely on the entries as advice?

They're general information written for Australian businesses. Loan contracts define their own terms, and your circumstances matter, so use the entries to understand your options and then talk to a specialist or your adviser.

Still have a question?

Look it up in the glossary, try the loan-type finder, or ask a real person — there's no credit check when you first enquire.
